Gophers down the home stretch

  • Updated: February 9, 2012 - 7:13 AM

Five of the Gophers' final seven regular-season games are at Williams Arena, but five of seven are also against ranked opponents. Here is a brief look at the games:

Thursday, vs. Wisconsin: Chance for a victory over the 21st-ranked team and an opportunity to get to .500 in the Big Ten for the first time this season.

Tuesday, vs. Ohio State: Victory over the No. 3 Buckeyes would do wonders.

Feb. 18 at Northwestern: With an RPI of 36, the Wildcats are no slouch even though the Gophers handled them easily at Williams Arena.

Feb. 22 vs. Michigan State: Could be a slugfest with the No. 11-ranked Spartans.

Feb. 25 or 26 vs. Indiana*: The No. 23 Hoosiers will be looking for revenge after Minnesota's victory at Indiana started their slide.

Feb. 28 at Wisconsin: Rematch in Madison could be a big one.

March 3 vs. Nebraska: Easiest of the seven remaining games, but plenty could be on the line.

*Big Ten will decide by this weekend if game is on 25th or 26th.
