Between her sophomore and junior seasons, Tayler Hill has raised her scoring average from 12.4 to a Big Ten-leading 21.4. Here's a closer look:

• Hill is playing 35.9 minutes per game this season -- it's a lot, but only about 2 1/2 minutes more than in 2010-11.

• Her free-throw numbers are essentially the same, too. In fact, they're down ever so slightly.

• So what then? The big difference is in field-goal shooting. Not only is Hill getting off 5.3 more shots per game, but her success rate has jumped dramatically -- from .401 in 2010-11 to .507 this season (.287 to .444 on three-pointers).
