Gophers at a glance: After starting off with four consecutive losses in Big Ten play, the Gophers are trying to erase that by heading to East Lansing, Mich., and securing a fourth victory in a row. That will be perhaps the Gophers' biggest test yet, however. The Gophers are expected to again go with a three-game-old lineup that might have the best balance yet. Freshman Joe Coleman has given the Gophers the aggressiveness they needed and has led the team in scoring for the past two games. The Gophers' new flex offense has given them a much more up-tempo look and has gotten more players involved.
Michigan State at a glance: The Spartans are coming off a dominant victory over Purdue -- which experienced out-of-the-ordinary travel experiences en route to East Lansing -- but before that, Michigan State lost two in a row: a stunner against Northwestern and a close one at Michigan. Still, Breslin Center is one of the most formidable places to play in the Big Ten this season, and the Spartans have not been beaten there all year. Michigan State has shown to be more balanced around Draymond Green than perhaps originally thought -- Keith Appling has wowed and Brandon Woods, Branden Dawson and Derrick Nix have all been solid. Green is leading the team with 15 points and 10.2 rebounds a game.
