UMD beats Mavericks in OT

MINNESOTA DULUTH 4, MINNESOTA STATE MANKATO 3: Cody Danberg scored 2 minutes, 6 seconds into overtime, lifting the host Bulldogs to a WCHA victory on Friday night.

UMD trailed 3-1 after two periods but tied it on Jordan Fulton's goal with 1:11 left. Danberg pulled the Bulldogs (8-7-4, 6-6-3 WCHA) within 3-2 when he scored at 7:52 of the third.

Mike Zacharias made 35 saves for the Mavericks (9-8-3, 3-7-3).

• NORTH DAKOTA 4, MICHIGAN TECH 1: Junior defenseman Joe Finley scored to break a tie as the Sioux (11-8-1, 8-7) beat the Huskies (9-10-2, 5-7-1) in Grand Forks, N.D.

The 6-7, 245-pound Finley has scored only three goals in 104 career games, including two this season. His blast from the left point was stopped byMichigan Tech goalie Rob Nolan. But the puck bounced into the net off the skate of Tech forward Peter Rouleau at 10:53 of the second period for a 2-1 Sioux lead.

• DENVER 3, WISCONSIN 2: Tom May and Anthony Maiani scored first-period goals 2:38 apart, and the host Pioneers (17-4, 12-3) went on to beat the Badgers (8-10-3, 4-8-1). Peter Mannino made 23 saves for Denver.

• COLORADO COLLEGE 6, ALASKA ANCHORAGE 1: Jimmy Kilpatrick had a goal and three assists as the Tigers (15-6, 14-3) routed the Seawolves (6-8-5, 2-8-3) in Colorado Springs.

• BEMIDJI STATE 4, ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE 0: Cody Bostock scored twice and Matt Climie made 23 saves as the Beavers (10-9-2, 7-7-2 CHA) beat the host Chargers (2-11-2, 0-5-2).
