The No. 3 Concordia (St. Paul) volleyball team, seeking its fifth consecutive NCAA Division II national championship, reached the national semifinals Thursday after defeating No. 6 Central Missouri in straight sets (25-14, 25-23, 25-23) in San Bernadino, Calif.

The Golden Bears (32-2) now face No. 2 Tampa (33-1) at 7 p.m. Friday. Neither team has lost a set in the tournament.

Katie Habeck had 15 kills for the Golden Bears, a career high, and hit .480. Megan Carlson led the defense with 19 digs and led the team with four blocks. Amanda Konetchy finished with 39 assists as Concordia hit .278.

"[Habeck] stepped up today, she was able to pick up the team, and Amanda did a great job getting the ball to her in places where she could to damage," said Golden Bears coach Brady Starkey.

Etc. • Three players from Ontario have signed national letters of intent to play for the Minnesota State Mankato women's hockey team. Goalie Brianna Quade and defenders Haley Northcote and Giulianna Pallotta will join the Mavericks next season.
