After allowing an 18-point fourth quarter lead to evaporate in a home loss last week, ninth-ranked Bethel reversed its late-game fortune Saturday with three unanswered fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 41-20 victory over St. John's in Collegeville, Minn.

Bethel senior quarterback Josh Aakre passed 7 yards to Kyle Ulstad for a touchdown midway through the fourth quarter to pull the Royals ahead 27-20. The Royals (2-1, 4-1) tacked on two more scores in the final two minutes, by sophomore running back Jesse Phenow and an interception return by senior defensive back David Vavra.

Phenow finished with 130 yards and two touchdowns for the Royals. Vavra intercepted two passes; his first halted a Johnnies drive early in the fourth quarter.

Stephen Johnson led the Johnnies (1-3, 2-4) with 115 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Concordia (Moorhead) 26, Carleton 7: Junior 245-pound fullback Brett Baune left the Knights battered and bruised behind 102 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

The Cobbers (2-2, 4-2) were equally controlling on defense, picking off three Carleton passes and holding the Knights to 128 yards of offense.

Sophomore Jordan Soteros scored for Carleton (1-3, 1-4) on a 92-yard kickoff return in the third quarter.

Gustavus Adolphus 37, Hamline 0: The Gusties (1-2, 1-4) dominated on both sides of the ball, outgaining the Pipers 466 yards to 165.

Gustavus sophomore Jeffrey Dubose ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Logan Becker passed for two scores and ran for one.

Senior quarterback Connor Sathre passed for 71 yards and rushed for 40 yards for Hamline (0-3, 0-5).
