The race for NSIC supremacy tightened further Saturday as 17th-ranked St. Cloud State knocked off previous conference unbeaten Minnesota State Mankato 31-13 in St. Cloud.

Huskies senior running back Dante Steward rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Mankato running back Andy Pfeiffer finished with 142 yards on 23 carries.

No. 9 Minnesota-Duluth 24, Winona State 6: Austin Sikorski and Zach Hulce each scored on two-yard runs as the Bulldogs prevailed in Winona.

Bemidji State 20, Concordia (St. Paul) 7: The Golden Bears could not overcome six turnovers --four interceptions and two fumbles -- in Bemidji. Beavers quarterback Lance Rongstad passed for a touchdown and ran for another.

Southwest Minnesota State 45, Minnesota State Moorhead 13: The Mustangs muscled their way to victory behind 391 rushing yards, a school record.

Augustana 27, Northern State 24: The Vikings' final touchdown drive covered 80 yards on four plays late in the fourth quarter to rally for the victory in Aberdeen, S.D.

Wayne State (Neb.) 31, Mary (N.D.) 24: The Wildcats (5-0, 5-1) remained unbeaten in conference play thanks to a pair of rushing touchdowns by Bryce Hawthorne.

Upper Iowa 31, Minnesota-Crookston 21: Chris Smith carried the Peacocks in Crookston with three rushing touchdowns.

UMACSt. Scholastica 35, Northwestern (Roseville) 7: Senior Alex Thiry passed for four touchdowns, carrying the Saints in Roseville.

Eureka (Ill.) 31, Martin Luther 21: The Knights couldn't keep pace in New Ulm, allowing 479 yards of offense and committing three turnovers.
