Nick O'Shea hit a home run for the third consecutive day, and Austin Lubinsky scattered five hits in 6 2/3 innings, leading the Gophers to a 6-2 victory over Michigan on Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich., and a sweep of the three-game series.

The victory was the sixth consecutive Big Ten road triumph for the Gophers (19-18, 11-7 Big Ten). O'Shea went 2-for-2 with two RBI on Sunday and was 7-for-11 with six RBI, five runs scored and three homers on the weekend. The Gophers are alone in second place in the Big Ten, two games behind Michigan State (13-5).

Etc. • Brett Swedberg of Alexandria Country Club shot a 4-under-par 68 for a four-stroke victory in the Minnesota Golf Champions tournament at Minneapolis Golf Club. Swedberg had a 10-under 206 total, which beat runner-up Joe O'Brien of Minneapolis GC, who was at 210 after a final-round 70. Andrew Paulson of University GC took third at 211. Don Berry, the defending champion and second-round leader, tied for fourth after a 75.

• Freshman Sara Moulton moved into a tie for second on school's single-season strikeout list with 311, but No. 2 Michigan rolled to an 8-1 victory over the Gophers softball team in Ann Arbor. Bree Blanchette drove in the only run for the Gophers (30-23, 8-10 Big Ten).

• St. Thomas earned at least a share of the MIAC regular-season baseball title by sweeping St. Mary's 11-4 and 9-5 in doubleheader. The Tommies (23-14, 16-4 MIAC) will be outright champions if Macalester (23-12, 14-4) doesn't sweep Concordia in a makeup doubleheader Tuesday in Moorhead. The Scots and Cobbers were rained out Sunday in St. Cloud.
