When: 8:35 p.m. today and 8:05 p.m. Saturday
Where: Colorado Springs World Arena
TV/radio: Both games on FSN, first game on 830-AM, second game on 107.5-FM
Quick fact: Ten of the 26 players on the Tigers roster are Minnesotans, including forwards Jimmy Kilpatrick (7-25--32) and Chad Rau (14-17--31), the two top returning scorers.
Gophers at a glance: Minnesota was 4-0 against CC last season. The Gophers have proven scorers such as Kyle Okposo, Jay Barriball and Blake Wheeler but need to get better on defense. Michigan had 47 shots in a 4-3 loss to Minnesota on Saturday.
Colorado College at a glance: WCHA coaches picked the Tigers to finish third in their preseason ratings and CC is No. 10 in the latest USCHO.com national rankings. "We're surprised how high we were picked in the league and national polls," coach Scott Owens said. "We return quite a bit in the forward position, so up front we're pretty solid. But we're unproven in the defensive end." Kilpatrick, a senior right winger, had offseason hip surgery. His rehabilitation is ahead of schedule, but he is doubtful for this weekend.
