Ohio State lost a ton of talent from last season, including Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith, but the offense has started to click. The Buckeyes scored 58 points against Northwestern last week and are getting solid play from quarterback Todd Boeckman. The Gophers, ranked last nationally in total defense, have to slow down powerful running back Chris Wells and also be mindful of play-action passes deep down the field. Advantage: Ohio State

The Buckeyes are playing with a lot of confidence. Wayzata product James Laurinaitis is the heart and soul of the Buckeyes defense and is eager to play well in front of his family and friends. Look for him to really energize his team. Advantage: Ohio State

Ohio State dismantled the Gophers 44-0 in Columbus last season. It might not be that lopsided again tonight, but the Buckeyes still have tons of talent on both sides of the ball and should win their 23rd consecutive regular-season game. Ohio State 38, Gophers 17
