Several years ago, the architect for the Chaska Town Course, Arthur Hill, was asked what hole he to be the signature hole on The Chaska Town Course? Mr. Hill responded that he believed all 18 were signature holes!
The Chaska Town Course is an outstanding venue on the metro area's southwest side. Complete with a championship golf course that has hosted a number of events including the U.S. Amateur Championship in 2006. This facility is outstanding in its design and condition and it will give any golfer the feeling that they have just played something spectacular! The clubhouse design is geared towards a quality golf experience with a fully stocked pro shop, restaurant and bar, providing a variety of menu choices.
Customer service is a priority for the Chaska Town Course. Surveys are attached to GPS equipped carts asking the player a variety of questions about their golf experience. These surveys are then collected and reviewed by golf course staff so that they can consider the feedback from patrons about what improvements can be made or to affirm that what is being done should continue.
The driving range is large enough to warm up or practice on while the putting green, near the clubhouse, is well sized for warm up or practice and to get a good feel for the speed of the greens. Mr. Hill was right about signature holes but if you have to narrow it down to just a few, #7, a par 5 and #9, also a par 5, are two unique holes on the front side. On the back, #11, #15 and #18 are terrific holes that will make the hacker think twice about going for the longer second shot and to strongly consider laying up to place the third shot near or on the green.
The fairways, greens and tee boxes are mowed and maintained as if a tournament is scheduled each day. The Town Course is a quality golf course that is affordable particularly to Chaska residents. Residents pay a reduced rate as the city of Chaska wanted to make the course not only challenging and in excellent condition but also friendly in price to its golfing residents. Non-residents pay slightly higher fees but can also obtain resident rates during certain times of the year and on specific days and times. Tee times can be booked up to 7 days in advance over the phone and 10 days in advance online. Patron card holders may make tee times by phone up to 14 days in advance. Leagues, lessons and golf clinics are held throughout the season. PGA professionals staff these lessons and clinics.
Beverage cart service is also available on the course. At the turn, there is a courtesy golf cart available to run up to the clubhouse to order food, use the restroom facilities, run to the car, etc. Yardage from the back tees totals 6,817. The course offers a black/green combination should golfers want to try playing from the back tips on specific holes. All skill levels, whether high or low handicappers, are encouraged to play the Town Course as it is truly a community oriented facility.
Play The Chaska Town Course on a regular basis. It is picturesque, challenging and above all, customer service friendly with every hole, like Mr. Hill indicated, a signature hole!
