Defending champions Cassie Deeg and Dominic Kieffer shot a 66 Wednesday to win the Minnesota Golf Association Mixed Amateur at Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater with a 36-hole total of 130.

That's four strokes better than siblings Emily and Andrew Israelson.

Deeg, of Hugo, will be a senior at Nebraska this fall. Kieffer, of Byron, Minn., will be a senior at Colorado State.

Racing body changes

The Minnesota Racing Commission has announced that former Twins executive Jerry Bell and Barbara Colombo, senior fellow at the Hamline University School of Law, have been appointed to the commission by Gov. Mark Dayton. Commission vice chairman James Lane III also was reappointed.

Bell was executive director of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission before joining the Twins in 1987. Colombo is director of Hamline's health care compliance certification program and is president of the Minnesota Horse Welfare Coalition.

Saints win in 12th

The St. Paul Saints scored five runs in the top of the 12th inning to beat Lincoln 12-8. Mike Kvasnicka was 4-for-6, including a homer and double, and had six RBI for the Saints.
