Twin Cities ratings No. 1

Last update: June 30, 2008 - 7:38 PM

The U.S. Women's Open at Interlachen County Club didn't only prove to be a draw at the Edina course. NBC also registered its best ratings in the Twin Cities.

Minneapolis-St. Paul finished No. 1 among the 56 metered markets in the United States with a 5.6 rating and 18 share on Saturday and a 4.7 rating and 14 share on Sunday. The metered market ratings are used to generate the overnight figures.

Overall, those numbers were up 17 percent from a year ago for the third round (1.4 vs. 1.2) but down 16 percent for the final day (1.6 vs. 1.9). The Open did beat CBS' coverage of the Buick Open in the overnights on Saturday (1.0) and Sunday (1.5).
