Interlachen's signature hole offers a little bit of everything: Great stadium-like views from behind the green, final-hole drama, history and, most importantly, the kind of risk-reward shot that makes golf enjoyable to watch.

"It's the perfect finishing hole," said Jock Olson, Interlachen's PGA master professional since 1994. "We can fit a lot of fans around this hole, and I'm guessing that's where a lot of them will be. It's the hole."

Olson predicts that most players who position their tee shots far and sure will go for the green in two, as Bobby Jones did 78 years ago, skipping a ball across the lilly pads en route to winning the U.S. Open and the third leg of his Grand Slam. "If you don't hit a good second shot, you could go in the water or you could go in the bunker," Olson said. "Then, all of a sudden, what you thought was a good chance at birdie or even eagle becomes a tough par."
