• NORTH DAKOTA 2, WESTERN MICHIGAN 0: Brock Boeser scored at 14 minutes, 46 seconds of the third period and added an empty-net goal in the last minute as the No. 2 Fighting Hawks (21-3-3, 12-2-1-1 NCHC) beat the host Broncos (7-15-3, 4-10-1-1). Boeser has 17 goals this season. Cam Johnson stopped 31 shots for the shutout. Lukas Hafner had 28 saves for Western Michigan.

• NORTHERN MICHIGAN 4, MINNESOTA DULUTH 3: Andy Welinski gave the visiting Bulldogs (8-11-5) a 3-2 lead at 1:33 of the third period. But just 26 seconds later, Brock Maschmeyer of the Wildcats (10-9-6) tied the nonconference game. And teammate Robbie Payne got the winner at 15:16 on a power-play goal. DominicToninato and Adam Johnson had the other goals for UMD, both in the first period.

• MICHIGAN STATE 4, OHIO STATE 2: Brennan Sanford's goal late in the second period was the winner for the visiting Spartans (6-17-2, 2-7 Big Ten) against the Buckeyes (7-14-2, 2-5-2-1). Spartans goalie Jake Hildebrand made 19 saves and had an assist on Sanford's goal.

• WISCONSIN 4, ALASKA 3: Ryan Wagner's two goals led the host Badgers (5-12-6) over the Nanooks (7-14-4) in nonconference play. Wisconsin scored three goals in the second period to take a 4-2 lead.
