U.S. Bank Stadium sold out for Vikings 2016 season

U.S. Bank Stadium is sold out for the Vikings 2016 season the team announced Thursday morning.

More than 60,400 seats are committed to for the season and the remaining single-game seats are also sold out. The stadium’s final 2016 capacity is 66,655.

“This is a testament to the passion of our fans and tremendous support of the Vikings,” Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf said in a press release. “The excitement for this team combined with the overwhelming response to U.S. Bank Stadium is incredible. We cannot wait to create the best home field advantage in the NFL.”

The Vikings have launched ticket and suite wait lists as a limited number of ticket returns are likely throughout the season.

The stadium’s first event, the International Champions Cup soccer match in early August, also sold out with 64,101 tickets sold. Metallica played the first sold out concert at U.S. Bank Stadium last weekend.

Before USA vs. Europe, it's Wild vs. Vikings at Hazeltine

Great golf shots. Competitive banter. Crazy costumes.

That's what you can expect next month when the Ryder Cup comes to Hazeltine National in Chaska for golf's grandest three days. It's a spectacle unlike any other on a golf course; an anything-can-happen USA vs. Europe tournament that brings face-painted, flag-wearing fans hooting and hollering for 24 of the best players on the planet. All because of a 17-inch-tall trophy.

Hazeltine is in the final stages of getting the course ready for the show. Before any of it happens, Ryder Cup officials got into the competitive spirit by inviting Wild players Zach Parise and Erik Haula to square off against former Vikings John Randle and Randall McDaniel. The friendly drive, chip and putt contest was all in fun (including the mascots from each team along for the ride), but as you can imagine these guys wanted to win.

And yes, a little trash talking was involved.
