Gophers snubbed again on Big Ten's preseason 'watch list'

CHICAGO -- With Big Ten Media Days starting here at McCormick Place at noon, the conference has unveiled its annual preseason watch list, with five players from each division.

Ohio State (J.T. Barrett and Raekwon McMillan), Iowa (C.J. Beathard, Desmond King) and Northwestern (Justin Jackson, Anthony Walker Jr.) each had two players make the list.

The Gophers haven't had anyone make the Big Ten's preseason watch list in six seasons. Last week, they were picked fifth in the West Division in the preseason media poll conducted by Cleveland.com.

Texas defensive lineman Joshua Croslen commits to Gophers

The Gophers continue bolstering their 2017 recruiting class. Joshua Croslen, a defensive tackle from Steele High School in Cibolo,Texas, gave them a verbal commitment Friday night, giving them 10 commits for this class.

The 6-foot, 280-pound Croslen is a consensus three-star recruit who also had reported offers from Houston, Rice, SMU and Colorado State, among others.
