Eden Prairie's football team will play at least one game and possibly two in Manitoba this fall. Eagles activities director and football coach Mike Grant told MSHSL administrators the trip was made necessary when Edina backed out of playing the Eagles in a double round-robin within the conference.
Grant might split his squad on the trip, which will take place before school starts, and play two games that would count on the Eagles' regular season record. Eden Prairie will play Canadian rules football, which calls for 12 players on offense and defense.
