We're off to take care of taxes semi-early this morning, but before we head out we'll throw something out quickly that we were thinking about after the Gold Medal game yesterday afternoon: Minnesota fans (who by extension were predominantly Team USA fans in our mind) have experienced a great number of gut-punch games as well as triumphs in a very short amount of time (the past six months, it would seem). We will ask you to rank them in order (worst to not as bad in case of the gut-punches, best to not-as-great in terms of the triumphs):

GUT PUNCHES

1) NFC title game. Vikings lose 31-28 in overtime. We all know the story.

2) ALDS game 2. Twins have the Yankees on the ropes. A couple of times. And they lose. We all know the story.

3) Team USA overtime loss to Canada.

4) Gophers basketball combo (Michigan State + Purdue).

TRIUMPHS

1) Twins' late charge, culminating in Game 163.

2) Vikings vs. Packers combo (MNF + the Lambeau game)

3) Vikings last-second win over San Francisco.

4) Team USA's overall run, including the first game vs. Canada.

Rank them up, and also, if you'd like, this question: Do the triumphs outweigh the gut punches, vice-versa, or are they about the same? And even if the gut punches are worse, would you still rather have experienced meaningful games than standard fare?
