After Saturday's 58-28 win over Indiana State, Gophers coach Tracy Claeys said the other two players suspended for a violation of team rules were safety Dior Johnson and defensive lineman Tamarion Johnson.

Those two join cornerbacks KiAnte Hardin and Ray Buford. Claeys said he didn't know how long they will be suspended for, adding, "We'll deal with it day-by-day."

Claeys acknowledged that he's concerned about tight end Brandon Lingen, who left the game after landing hard on his left shoulder. That's the shoulder Lingen has had surgically repaired, though Claeys said this injury doesn't relate to the surgery.

Right guard Vincent Calhoun and defensive tackle Andrew Stelter were also injured Saturday, but Claeys said they could have returned. Sounds precautionary.

It was also interesting to hear QB Mitch Leidner say the team was extra motivated after hearing that Indiana State coach Mike Sanford had said the Gophers were no better than an upper-level FCS team. Leidner said some Indiana State players were dancing on the 'M' at midfield during pregame warming, further agitating Minnesota's players.

I'll have more on all that in tonight's first editions.
