In winning the Western Conference's Western Conference Rookie of the Month for April, Wolves center Karl-Anthony Towns did something today that only seven other players have done since the award's inception in 1981:

He completed a clean sweep of a conference's Rookie of the Month awards.

Towns went 6-for-6 this year, winning the West's award from November to April.

He's the first player to do that in either conference since Portland's Damian Lillard in 2012-13.

The other who have done the same is pretty good company: Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Tim Duncan and David Robinson.

Ralph Sampson swept the award in 1983, but it was awarded in five consecutive months, not six.

Towns averaged 18.9 ppg, 11.7 rebounds, 1.7 blocked shots, 3.6 assists, 35.6 minutes and shot 49.1 from the field in April.

He also become the eighth Timberwolves player to win the West's Player of the Week award when he did so on Monday.
