Quinnipiac All-American forward Sam Anas, a free agent, has agreed to a two-year deal with the Wild.

The 22-year-old Anas, who is 5-8 and 170 pounds and was not drafted, had 24 goals and 26 assists as a junior as the Bobcats advanced to the NCAA title game before losing to North Dakota 5-1 on Saturday.

Anas had 69 goals and 63 assists in 121 games in three seasons at Quinnipiac. He played for Youngstown of the U.S. Hockey League for two seasons before his college career.

"He's a smart offensive player," said Wild assistant GM Brent Flahr. "He's produced offensively at every level and finished in the top 10 of NCAA scoring this year. While undersized, Sam has a high compete level and knows his way around the offensive zone."

Anas grew up in Potomac, Md. Here's a Washington Post story written during the past season.
