The Wild announced Alex Tuch, the team's top pick in the 2014 draft (18th overall), agreed to a three-year contract today.
The deal starts next season.
Tuch, 19, had 18 goals in 40 games as a sophomore for BC last season after scoring 14 as a freshman. The 6-4, 220-pounder played for the U.S. in the world junior tournament in 2015.
"He's a big power winger with quality hands and an NHL shot," said Wild assistant GM Brent Flahr. "He had a strong finish to the season and was eager to get his pro career going. We are very excited to have him in the organization and look forward to working with him in his development process."
Tuch isn't eligible to play this season, but could practice with the team.
