The Wolves say goodbye to 2015 and hello to 2016 with tonight's game at Detroit, their first New Year's Eve game since they played the Clippers in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve 2007.

Al Jefferson was the team's leading scorer that night and he and Ryan Gomes were the leading rebounders.

Tonight with a 5 p.m. Central start time, the Wolves will see if they can build off last night's home victory over Utah by beating an improved Pistons team that is just getting point guard Brandon Jennings back from injury. He's coming off the bench behind starter Reggie Jackson.

Gorgui Dieng is starting tonight's game at power forward for Kevin Garnett on the second of back-to-back games, btw.

Given the occasion, Detroit coach Stan Van Gundy and Sam Mitchell made were asked about any New Year resolutions they might have for 2016.

SVG: "Nah, I'm not into that. I make resolutions all the time. Some I do a better job on than others, but they are as likely to come on June 12 as January 1. I'm not a big New Year's resolution guy."

I asked Sam if he had any resolutions forthcoming, other than, of course, not being as nice to the media as he has been so far.

"I like my relationship with new guys just the way it is: frosty," He said. "I don't have any because I'm never going to keep them anyway."

Btw, nothing has changed with Kevin Martin's status. Expect him to not play tonight for the fifth consecutive game.
