Andrew Wiggins comes back to Toronto tonight for a Canadian Thanksgiving visit back home.

Former teammate and longtime pal Anthony Bennett is already here, theoretically for good.

Bennett, of course, worked a nearly a buyout with the team that saved it nearly $2.2 million before training camp back.

Bennett left Minnesota because the team's roster was crowded with power forwards and signed a league minimum contract with a Raptors team that already has Luis Scola, Patrick Patterson and DeMarre Carroll -- to name just three -- who can play that position.

Bennett said he sat down with his agent after he finished playing all summer for Team Canada and said agent Jeff Schwartz recommended a change of scenery would be best. Bennett had other options, such as Portland, when he cleared waivers and became a free agent but decided to go home instead.

"I felt way more comfortable here, with my family and friends and great guys over here," Bennett said.

Bennett might be the 15th man on the Raptors roster but Toronto coach Dwane Casey said Bennett is a better defender than he expected. Casey said Bennett just needs to get the weight of that No. 1 overall pick tag "off his neck" and just go play free and easy.

Wiggins' family is trying to get 15 courtside seats for tonight's game, which shouldn't be a problem on a day when it's Thanksgiving in Canada, the Blue Jays are playing in Texas in an American League playoff game and it's the NBA preseason, of course.

Bennett has already set limits with his family and friends now that's back home for good, or at least for this season.

"I pretty much told everybody I'm having a set amount and whoever doesn't get them, you know, tough luck," he said.

When told Wiggins was trying to get 15 courtside seats, he said exhaled and said, "That's Andrew, man. I'm pretty sure everyone wants to go see him."

Asked how he'll remember his year in Minnesota after coming to the Wolves from Cleveland in the Kevin Love trade, Bennett said, "It was definitely fun. All those guys were all connected. Basically, we became a family but at the same time it's a business and you've got to move on. I wish them all the best and I just keep telling them that."

Two other things from morning shoot:

* Veteran backup guard Andre Miller was back with the team after he was excused from Saturday's game at Winnipeg to attend to a personal matter. He participated in shootaround and is expected to play.

* I'm told by the Raptors crack PR staff that tonight's game will be on DirecTV's NBA League pass. Don't know the channel yet, though.
