TCU leads the Gophers 10-3 at halftime before a full house at TCF Bank Stadium.

Minnesota is hanging in there, despite two big turnovers.

THE RECAP

Jaden Oberkrom hit a 53-yard field goal, giving TCU an early lead.

The Gophers fumbled on their next drive, when defensive end Terrell Lathan got around left tackle Ben Lauer to sack Mitch Leidner, popping the ball loose. TCU recovered at Minnesota's 15-yard line, and moments later, Trevone Boykin hit Josh Doctson for a nine-yard touchdown.

Less than 10 minutes into the game, TCU had a 10-0 lead.

But the Gophers defense stiffened, and the offense started finding its footing. They ran the flea flicker, with Leidner hitting KJ Maye for a 36-yard gain. Four plays later, Rodrick Williams went airborne for a six-yard gain, but fumbled the ball at the 1, with the ball bouncing through the end zone for a touchback.

After making five turnovers in last year's 30-7 loss, the Gophers had vowed to protect the ball better, but those two were big setbacks.

Ryan Santoso hit a 42-yard field goal putting the Gophers on the board, and Oberkrom missed a 29-yard attempt off the left upright with 28 seconds left in the half.
