Greetings from American Airlines center here in Dallas, where the Timberwolves will try to erase the memory of Friday's record-breaking loss.

It won't be easy.

The Wolves are coming off their worst-ever loss, a 48-point drubbing in New Orleans. The Mavs, meanwhile, are coming off their biggest win ever, a 53-point win over Philadelphia on Thursday. I'm told this is just the second time in league history that two teams are meeting with one coming off a win of 45 points or more and the other coming off a loss of 45 points or more.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

"Every day is a new day," Wolves coach Flip Saunders said. "That's the greatest thing about our league. You get a chance to play, and forget about what happened the night before. You try to learn and get back after it.''

Some other pre-game thoughts:

--This could be a particularly difficult defensive matchup for the Wolves, whose defense was non-existent last night. The Mavericks do much of their scoring off drives into the paint.

--There is a reason why veteran guard Kevin Martin's scoring is down significantly since Ricky Rubio got hurt. Rubio, Saunders said, is very good at getting Martin the ball at exactly the right time. "Ricky had the ability to deliver the ball at just the right time," Saunders said. "And Kevin is such a rhythm shooter. Zach (LaVine) is just not there yet. He delivers it a half-second late. And by that time the defense is able to get there and cut off some of Kevin's shots. So it's something we have to keep on working on with him.''

--It might be getting lost amid the losing, but Andrew Wiggins is quietly playing some consistent basketball. He enters tonight's game having scored in double figures in three straight games, and that includes a career-high 20 points in New Orleans. In those three games Wiggins is shooting 16-for-32 overall (50 percent) and has hit on three of five three-pointers.

That's about it for now. I'll get back to you after the game.
