The Minnesota Lynx finished their short preseason with a 88-80 loss to Connecticut at Target Center Tuesday in a game that perhaps created more questions than it answered with final roster cuts looming.

The Lynx got strong efforts from starters Maya Moore (13 points), Seimone Augustus (15) and Lindsay Whalen (14).

But the team's reserves struggled in a game in which the Sun (2-1) made more plays and fewer mistakes. Connecticut trailed 78-73 mid-way through the fourth quarter. But the Sun responded with a 13-0 run with the Lynx starters on the bench to take an 87-78 lead with less than two minutes left.

Kelsey Griffin (nine points) had five of her points in that run. The Sun also got 12 points from Tan White.

The Lynx (1-1) committed 22 turnovers, which were turned into 33 points by the Sun, which also had a 26-7 edge in second-chance points.

Ashley Walker had 11 for Connecticut, which hit on 13 of 31 three-pointers. Allison Hightower had 10.

Monica Wright scored nine off the bench for the Lynx.
