Celtics fans got a double-dose of bad news in the past week or so. Guard Rajon Rondo is done for the year with a torn ACL, and now rookie forward Jared Sullinger will miss the rest of the season with back problems. So yes, the team's third- and ninth-leading scorers are done for the season. And, of course, Celtics fans are crying a river because why would anyone ever curse them with such bad luck?

Sorry, guys. This might represent the end of your era of playoff-contending teams, but it happens. And you are nowhere near as cursed as the Wolves this season.

Rondo is, of course, more than just the third-leading scorer. He is a deft point guard averaging double-digit assists. But he was also trade bait -- a guy the Celtics apparently deemed expendable for the right price.

Based on the slobbering over Sullinger, we imagined he was having a better rookie year than we knew. 6 points and 6 rebounds? Well, that's nice.

Let us know when half your top-end rotation goes out with injuries, and then we can talk.
