The Wolves continue to lose players to injury -- Monday's game was the fourth consecutive in which somebody was hurt and did not return -- and...

They just keep winning.

Monday's 90-82 victory over a Dallas team that entered the night as the NBA's highest scoring team now makes them 5-2, the best seven-game start since the 2001-02 team went 6-1.

They did it despite losing Nikola Pekovic to a sprained ankle late in the third quarter.

Pekovic stepped on Vince Carter's foot as the two ran down the court side by side.

He left the arena first limping and then riding a motorized cart to the team bus in a funny post-game scene with teammates Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love.

Big Pek said he didn't consider the sprained ankle serious because he didn't break anything -- just lots of pain when it happened -- but wants to wait to see how the ankle is on Tuesday before he makes any predictions about whether he can play Wednesday against Charlotte or about any return.

That's six men down now, and counting...

Here's the game story from Monday that captures some of that scene when Pek was limping down a hallway and he saw his much healthier teammates hop a ride on the cart.

It also includes mention of Andrei Kirilenko's 44-minute performance that included playing all of the second half, countryman Alexey Shved's career-high 33-minute game that included playing all of the fourth quarter as well and other contributions from such players as Dante Cunningham and Lou Amundson on a night when Derrick Williams got on the floor for only 12 minutes.

There also should be some postgame video from Rick Adelman, Kirilenko, Shved and Luke Ridnour up here on the blog by morning.
