Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Maybe the money isn't endless in Los Angeles. The Dodgers, who committed more than a quarter billion dollars in a questionable deal to get Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford (and Nick Punto) from the Red Sox, are now apparently trying to get out from under the 5-year, $85 million contract of Andre Ethier, a nice player who should be making about two-thirds of what he makes.
Sources: Dodgers are open to the idea of dealing Andre Ethier. He signed a five-year, $85 million contract during the season.
