The Lynx had battled their way back into a tie late in the third quarter of Game 2 of the WNBA Finals when Lindsay Whalen was mugged -- or so she and coach Cheryl Reeve thought -- as she drove to the basket.

No call was made.

Whalen got a technical foul for her protests.

And Reeve got one as well, after which she went off -- a wonderful combo platter of Twins manager Ron Gardenhire and former Gophers men's basketball coach Clem Haskins, multiplied by 10.

She threw her blazer, hitting stunned-looking assistant coach Shelley Patterson, and didn't get ejected primarily because her other assistant coach, Jim Peterson, used his 6-foot-10 self to keep her away from the officials.

"I think she's gotten seven or eight techs this year," Lynx star Seimone Augustus told ESPN during a postgame interview. "But every time she gets a tech, we get fired up and win."

In this case, winning by 12 in a game that had to be won for the Lynx to have a realistic shot at winning another WNBA title.

Meanwhile, here's how others reacted:
