Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could convince the world to love jumpsuits as much as he does. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Monday (Athletes who eat free in Minnesota and those not welcome) edition: Wha' Happened?

Posted by: Michael Rand under Professional baseball, Professional football Updated: October 15, 2012 - 8:36 AM

That chalkboard is from The Meat Department, an excellent meat shop in the Danforth neighborhood of Toronto. In addition to serving delicious meats and offering you a half-pint of beer while you wait for your peameal bacon, as happened to us over the weekend, they have a rather amusing list of athletes who "eat for free" at the shop and those who are "not welcome." The not welcome list, by the way, is two more columns wide. We just couldn't fit it all into a picture. Rest assured that Gary Bettman is on the list.

In any event, commenter Clarence Swamptown saw the picture when we tweeted it out on Friday, and he insisted we do a post on athletes who would theoretically eat for free in a similar Minnesota meat shop and those who would not be welcome. We will provide 10 athletes for each column; please add more to either one in the comments:
