Torii Hunter Jr., the son of the former Twins outfielder, said over the weekend that he'll play college football for Notre Dame. One of the turning points, he said, was when he walked into the stadium with the team before Saturday's game against Michigan.

Hunter, ranked among the top high school wide receivers in the country, told the South Bend Tribune: "I'm not even a player here and when I was doing the walk, people knew my name and everything. It was kind of big. Everybody knew who I was before I even came."

Better yet, Hunter knows he chose a school with a good academic reputation, too. "I knew that Notre Dame had the academics and everything that I was looking for, I just wanted to see how a game day was. That really sealed the deal."
