He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Messed up situation in Baltimore is very Bryant McKinnie

Posted by: Michael Rand under Vikings Updated: September 4, 2012 - 3:07 PM

Bryant McKinnie, whose time in Minnesota ended ingloriously in 2011, is either cut or not cut with the Ravens. Got it? Per NFL.com:

The Baltimore Ravens and starting left tackle Bryant McKinnie have reached a road block in their attempts to restructure his base salary for 2012, a source in McKinnie's camp said Tuesday.

This leads to the fear that the Ravens will release the veteran, the source said.

NFL Network and NFL.com reporter Albert Breer received a text message from McKinnie that read: "We couldn't come to an agreement on the restructure of my contract, which leads to me being released."

When asked if the decision was final, McKinnie responded via text: "Yes! They will announce it soon." McKinnie texted a similar statement to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun and WNST.net in Baltimore.

Moments later, Breer received another text message from McKinnie that read: "Not officially over yet just got a call."

We personally have a soft spot for McKinnie since he participated in a hilarious Q&A with us in 2009 when times were good. Excerpt:

Q I read you had some big thing in Miami over the summer.

A Yeah, it was something called Miami Standup. It was special to the label. We wanted everyone in the industry to learn about the label. One year we had a bowling event. We had a boat party.

Q Whoa, a boat party. Better watch out!

A (Laughs) My bad! No, not that kind of boat party!

But we can't say we're surprised about how this is working out or playing itself out in Baltimore.

UPDATE: McKinnie reportedly has reached an agreement with the Ravens.
