Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

As such, our Twins knowledge before, say, 1996, has some gaps. So we've basically just assumed all these years that Jack Morris was still a slam-dunk ace when he arrived for his one season with the Twins in 1991 -- the one that REGRETTABLY ended with a teenage RandBall having his heart broken by Jack's 10-inning gem in Game 7.
So we were stunned to learn, in the course of a little internet research for another project, that Morris -- a bulldog in the 80s for the Tigers -- looked to be fading considerably in 1989 and 1990 for Detroit before coming to the Twins and going 18-12.
As in, he was a combined 21-32 and had ERAs above 4.50 both seasons.
If you already knew all this, please carry on.
