Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Mid-day talker: What does All-Star Joe Mauer have to do to earn your cheers again

The best Twins player of this generation is having a bounce-back season, punctuated by earning another trip to the All-Star game, which was announced Sunday. And yet there is this:

Josh Willingham is having a very good season -- with several memorable hits -- but he plays a crowded position, and if you look at his overall numbers ... it gets harder to make a case for Willingham over Mauer. Still, we have this.
As such, we started the #BlameMauer hashtag. People are jumping on it, as we expected they would:
And so, the question remains: What does Joe Mauer have to do to earn your cheers again? And please say something that doesn't involve "home runs" or "$23 million."
