Brewers ace Zack Greinke had been long removed from Sunday's slaughter -- and most of us had gone on to other things -- when Drew Butera became the sixth position player in Twins history to take the mound during the 16-4 loss.
According to Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel columnist Michael Hunt, Greinke was impressed with Butera's ability to hit 94 on the radar gun during the eighth, when he struck out Carlos Gomez and walked a Brewer during the hitless inning.
"I don't know how he ended up being a catcher if he throws that good," Greinke said.
Hunt also wrote that when Brewers reliever Tim Dillard was ejected for his retaliation pitcher at Jamey Carroll in the ninth, the Brewers were thinking about turning to Gomez to finish off the lopsided game.
He added: "Of course, Gomez, who sees himself as a pitcher trapped inside an outfielder's body, would have tried to break triple digits on the gun, most likely on his way back to the disabled list."
Here's the rest of Hunt's column on the Brewers embarrassing the Twins, which ended a streak of embarrassing baseball by Milwaukee.
