Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Last year, he shot 31.4 percent from long-distance. His typical shot chart looks like a boxer's face bandaged with tons of tiny X's.
And yet somehow he was named the 12th-best pure shooter in the NBA by his peers.
Kevin Durant, who is absolutely the one person on this planet we would want shooting a 19-foot jumper with the game on the line, was one spot behind him at No. 13.
We have no explanation.
