Defenseman Mike Reilly, a future Gopher this coming season, scored a goal and his brother Ryan, a forward also going to the U, had an assist, as Penticton defeated Portage 3-1 on Wednesday in round robin play of the RBC Cup in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

The victory, the Vees' second in two nights, improves their record to 2-2 in the five-team tournament which decides who will be the Junior A champion of Canada. It also ensures Penticton will have a spot in Saturday's semifinals.

Also in the semifinals is Humboldt, the host team, which is 3-0. Portage, Woodstock and the Soo are all 1-2, fighting for that last two semifinal slots.

The Reillys are both from Chanhassen. Defenseman D.J. Jones of Plymouth and forward Steve Fogarty of Edina also had assists for the Vees, who trailed 1-0 after two periods. Penticton finished with a slight 27-26 advantage in shots.

The Vees are done with round robin play. The other four teams play their last games on Thursday. Humboldt plays Portage and Woodstock faces the Soo.
