Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

Nationals pitcher Tyler Clippard makes playoff guarantee, falls off mound, loses game

OK, so all three of those things weren't directly related. But we do have evidence of Nationals pitcher Tyler Clippard kinda sorta guaranteeing the heretofore lowly Nats will make the playoffs ... and video evidence (below) of him trying to deliver a pitch but falling off the mound instead (note to YouTube uploader: It's not a balk if nobody is on base) ... and box score evidence that Clippard gave up three runs and lost the game in which he fell yesterday.
Maybe for his next guarantee, he should tell fans he will remain upright during an entire relief stint!
