Here is an update after having listened to Wolves coach Rick Adelman.

Greetings. Kent Youngblood here. I'll be covering the game tonight.

Love, who suffered that mild concussion and neck strain in the first quarter of Wednesday's game in Denver, was scheduled to fly back to the Twin Cities Thursday night. He was cleared to fly after undergoing further tests this morning in the Denver-area hospital he spent the night in.

Adelman wouldn't say whether Love was done for the year. But he did note that even missing a few days could mean missing four of the team's final seven games. So the feeling here is that Love could be done.

Adelman talked a lot about how the season was affected by injuries and the frustration that goes with that. But, interestingly, Adelman wasn't ready to blame injuries for all of the struggles the Wolves have had down the stretch.

"I've been really taken aback with how quickly -- even with the injuries -- we slipped," Adelman said. "How quickly we didn't have guys that seemed to be motivated to step in. We hope to see that in the last few games."

I'll have more of this in tomorrow's paper.

Meanwhile, Adelman said Wayne Ellington (back) would miss a second straight game and that Luke Ridnour (ankle) wasn't yet ready to return.

I'll get back to you after the game. Have a good night.

The Wolves just issued an update on Kevin Love, who was hit by a JaVale McGee elbow to the head in the first quarter of Wednesday's game in Denver.

The Wolves said the initial diagnosis of a mild concussion and neck strain was confirmed after further tests were completed today on Love, who stayed in a Denver-area hospital overnight. Love was cleared to return to the Twin Cities.

"He will not play in tonight's game vs. the L.A. Clippers," the Wolves said in the release. "In the upcoming days, Love will be further evaluated by the Timberwolves medical staff, and an update to his status will be provided when warranted."

That's about it for now. I'll get back to you later tonight with any further updates. But with just seven games left, including tonight's with the Clippers, Love may have played in his final game of the season.
