Ran into Matt Cullen at the hotel this afternoon, and the Wild center definitely has a broken right index finger, is wearing a splint and will see the Wild doctors tomorrow in the Twin Cities.
He's very disappointed. "Just an insult to injury," Cullen said, referring to the disappointment of also not making the playoffs.
I'll talk to Cullen more in depth during today's game in the press box.
The Wild plays Washington at 4 p.m. CT on NBC Sports Network. Chad Rau has been recalled and will slip right into Cullen's second-line center spot with Erik Christensen and Cal Clutterbuck.
As for the starting goalie, Matt Hackett looked to have his game face on, but coach Mike Yeo said he'd keep the goalie starter a secret until gametime. Look on Twitter at around 3:35 for that answer at www.twitter.com/russostrib.
Talk to you after the game.
