We can't have everything we want for the holidays. But if you could choose just ONE thing to give to various local sports teams, what would you pick? Here are our thoughts. Yours, please, in the comments. *Twins: A dominant starting pitcher. Say what you want about the offense, but there's not much left for Minnesota to do but hope that Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau have healthy rebound seasons. If not, they'll be scratching and clawing to score. But when you have more than one-third of your payroll tied up in two question marks, it decreases your flexibility. And yes, we understand that flexibility is also limited when it comes to finding a top-end starter. This is a wish list, not a blank wall in Terry Ryan's office. And no, Jason Marquis -- if reports prove to be true -- is not our idea of a dominant pitcher. He's competent, to be sure, but the funny thing is if you checked his birth certificate, you would find out that he's actually 29 instead of 33, and that his name is really Nick Blackburn.

*Vikings: Oh, there are so many things to ask for, Santa. But please, oh please, could you just fix the secondary? We know Christian Ponder wants more targets and an upgrade offensive line. But this is what we need to have first.

*Wild: Healthy forwards. The team has been unrecognizable the past few games.

*Wolves: For Ricky Rubio to be a real, legitimate NBA point guard. Everybody already loves him. They will keep on loving him even more if he can play.

Your thoughts on these teams and any others in the comments, please. Also, a programming note: We'll have a couple more posts today, including Stu's Hunt Down. Friday will be entirely off as we prepare for the holidays.
