Jerry Zgoda missed the entire Kevin Garnett era, but he's back covering the Timberwolves after working the beat for their first four seasons two decades ago. In between, he covered a bit of everything: Gopher men's and women's basketball and NCAA athletics, golf, outdoor recreation, sports media and a little Vikings and Twins.
I texted agent Andy Miller this evening asking if the Wolves still are in the running for client Jamal Crawford, the kind of shooting guard you might say the Wolves lack.
His direct answer?
No
Unless the Wolves somehow get themselves back in the race, I'm assuming that's more Crawford's decision than the Wolves.
Portland, Sacramento, New York all remain in the hunt.
Chicago, too, might get in the game if Rip Hamilton doesn't land there.
