Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

TFD: Packers shareholders have worthless stock, but they can still be sued for betting on NFL games?

Still, because the Packers are publicly owned (very cool, we admit), the stockholders are apparently technically subject to the rules of NFL ownership. Per a tweet from Sports biz guru Darren Rovell, they can be fined up to $5,000 by commissioner Roger Goodell for betting on any NFL game.
Would this actually be enforced? We have to think the answer is no. But it is kind of fun to think about.
