Regarding the below, Yeo said he's been thinking about separating Koivu and Heatley, but "I believe you coach up to your highest upside," and for now, he still sees signs of this eventually working. More in the paper on that.

Yeo talked about how big of a loss Scandella is, saying he's played beyond his years. The injury appears to have happened right before the Colin Fraser goal 2:49 in. He did play a few shifts after, and his last shift, he saved a goal when he stick-checked Mike Richards.

One game after Guillaume Latendresse sustained a concussion in San Jose, defenseman Marco Scandella has indeed been diagnosed with a concussion. Scandella was hit hard on his fourth shift last night by the Kings' Ethan Moreau.

Clayton Stoner will return from a finger injury and Niklas Backstrom will start in goal.

I'd be shocked if coach Mike Yeo doesn't scramble his lines tonight.

The question is what does he do, and when do you say enough is enough with the Mikko Koivu/Dany Heatley tagteam? Is tonight the night?

Koivu has one goal, Heatley five, and they've generated almost nothing this road trip.

How about Matt Cullen with Heatley? Maybe Koivu with P-M Bouchard? Or, Bouchard feeding Heatley?

This is a battle of the two worst offensive teams in the NHL tonight. The Wild's averaging 2.12 goals a game, the Ducks 2.0.

Sixteen games into the season, the Wild's scored 34 times. Sorry. Time to break up the only two consistent things about the No. 1 line -- Koivu and Heatley together.

Yeo is meeting with the beat writers at 3 p.m. PT. I'll blog afterward if he divulges some plans.
