Gophers edge Sioux 2-0 on goals by Bjugstad, Serratore

Sophomore center Nick Bjugstad's power-play goal at 12 minutes, 44 seconds of the second period was the game-winner as the Gophers beat North Dakota 2-0  on Friday at Mariucci Arena.

It remained a 1-0 goal until fourth-line winger Tom Serratore scored on a breakaway in the middle of the third period.

Senior goalie Kent Patterson stopped 24 shots for the Gophers in his fifth shutout of the season. That ties Robb Stauber's single-season record set in1987-88.

The victory improves the Gophers record to 8-1-0 overal, 5-0-0 in the WCHA. North Dakota falls to 3-5-1, 1-4-0.
