The three stars of Friday's game, understandably, were all Gophers.

Freshman Kyle Rau was the third star with one goal, at 44 seconds, and one assist in the second period.

Sophomore Zach Budish was the second star. The big first-line right wing had one goal, the sixth on a power play, and two assists.

The first star was sophomore center Nick Bjugstad, who plays in between Rau and Budish on the first line. He had two goals, his fourth and fifth of the season, on two shots.

The plus/minus leaders on Friday for the Gophers were Rau and freshman defenseman Ben Marshall, both plus-3.

The Gophers outshot Vermont 38-17. They were one for six on the power play after coming in on an NCAA-best 39.1 percent clip. They did have nine shots on their power play. Vermont was zero for six on the man-advantage with just three shots.
