In a season of firsts, the Lynx have another. They are in the WNBA finals.

The Lynx beat Phoenix 103-86 on Sunday at the US Airlines Center to win their best-of-three Western Conference finals series 2-0. They got contributions from nearly everybody as usual.

Seimone Augustus wasn't at her best. She only had 14 points after averaging a playoffs-high 21.5 through four games.

But the other four starters all scored in double figures as did backup post Jessica Adair with 10 points. Taj McWilliams-Franklin, the Lynx's 40-year-old center, and Maya Moore, the league's rookie of the year, each had 21 points to lead the Lynx pack.

The Lynx shot 54.2 percent in beating the Mercury for the third time in four games on their home court. They were also eight for 14 on threes, or 57.1 percent.

DeWanna Bonner and Diana Taurasi each scored 22 points for the Mercury, which had been 6-1 elimination games on their court.

Minnesota will play either Indiana or Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. next Sunday in the first game of the WNBA finals at Target Center.

Hard to believe the Lynx were 13-21 just a year ago.
